Aqua Flo HERO RO System
The Aqua Flo HERO RO System makes outstanding drinking water and does it more efficiently than virtually any other RO system on the market.
With the quality of our drinking water increasingly coming under question, people are now looking for alternative sources of quality water. Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Systems provide the most convenient and economical solution.
HERO: Waste Virtually No Water
HERO virtually wastes no water with over 99.9% recovery. Comparable systems typically waste 4-12 gallons for every gallon of RO water produced.
Purified water is collected in the storage tank. Rather than sending the remaining rinse water to drain, it is recycled back where it will be used throughout the house.
High Quality Water All The Time! With the HERO system every time the tank is full, the system performs a flush of the membrane with pure RO water. This ensures there is no high TDS water that can “creep” through the membrane at low pressures.
After the membrane flush with pure RO water, the controller de-pressurizes the membrane so that when the system restarts, only pure high quality RO water is produced.

FAQs
HERO is a very efficient Reverse Osmosis (RO) System that virtually wastes no water. Most RO systems will put 4 – 6 gallons of concentrate water to waste for every gallon of product water produced.
Conversely, HERO re-circulates the concentrate water back to the whole house water feed where it gets diluted with raw water to be used for household purposes.
This is ideal for anyone with a private well, minimising the amount of wastewater going to septic tanks or fields. It’s great for homes in municipalities like St. Andrews where wastewater is metered.
Water is a precious commodity. HERO is eco-friendly and makes great tasting water!
Water entering any home—rural or municipal—contains a level of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). The HERO RO System will reduce TDS levels by 90 – 95%. This includes the significant reduction of contaminants such as arsenic, chromium, copper, fluoride, nitrates, sulphates, chlorides, and lead.
Note that pre-treatment of certain water characteristics such as hardness, iron, and potability is recommended.
It is important for water to meet certain characteristics before passing through the HERO RO System. It is recommended that hardness < 10 grains per gallon (gpg) and iron < 0.3 parts per million (ppm). Influent chlorine should not exceed 3.0 ppm.
A water softener is strongly recommended for water > 10 gpg.
The HERO RO System is intended for use on potable water supplies or disinfected water containing cysts. Do not use where water is microbiologically unsafe or with water of unknown quality. If bacterial contamination is present, a recognized method of water disinfection is required (such as UV filtration).
The HERO RO System is a perfect addition to any home on well water. Where most RO systems will put 4 – 6 gallons of water to waste in RO production, HERO wastes virtually no water in the making of products water. HERO also comes with a built-in booster pump to speed up RO production—especially important on high TDS well water.
HERO will save on filling your septic tank or field with wastewater. If you are on municipal water and are metered for wastewater, HERO will add very little to your RM’s quarterly bill.
When on well water, it’s important to have your water tested, then treated prior to installation.
Yes, the HERO RO System works in home with municipal water. Enjoy RO water on tap while wasting virtually no water in producing it.
Eco-friendly. No plastics to landfills. And no increase to your quarterly water bill.
While it can be installed under the kitchen sink, most prefer it be installed in a basement or a more out-of-the-way place.
Most have a dedicated RO water spigot installed at the kitchen sink to give you RO water on-tap for drinking and cooking.
Yes, the HERO RO System can be hooked up to a refrigerator in addition to having a spigot at the kitchen sink. Refrigerators with water dispensers and icemakers typically use a carbon filter to remove unpleasant tastes and odour. Running RO water through the refrigerator will dramatically improve the quality of its water and ice.
No more having to replace those expensive refrigerator water filters!
Note: depending upon household usage of RO water, you may want to consider the addition of a larger tank or a demand pump to ensure adequate flow rates from all RO dispensing devices.
The HERO RO System comes with a 3.0 gallon (14.36 L) storage tank. Because the system works on pressure, about half of that volume is taken up by an internal air bladder. If you use more than 7 or 8 litres of water at a time—such as filling a 20 L jug to take to the cabin, you may want to consider adding a larger storage tank. We have 11 L and 20 L stainless steel tanks available.
Note: depending upon household usage of RO water, you may want to consider the addition a demand pump to ensure adequate flow rates from all RO dispensing devices.
